About

Human judgment. System thinking.

My interests sit at the intersection of enterprise risk, governance, and AI-enabled operating systems — and the human choices that give those systems meaning.

Manager II, Risk Management at Amazon · Bengaluru, India

A working principle

Till then, keep asking questions. — A.K.G.

Make the problem clear, make ownership visible, and examine the system producing the outcome.

The journey

My early work in operations and analytics gave me a close view of how teams make decisions under pressure—and how unclear ownership, unreliable reporting, or an escalation that comes too late can affect the outcome. Moving into investigations and risk leadership brought a different set of questions: how do we make sound decisions with incomplete information, explain our reasoning, and learn from patterns that appear across individual cases? That progression has shaped my focus on building systems that support people as well as performance.

From operations to the bigger picture.

The perspective

Complexity is inevitable.
Confusion is not.

I’m drawn to the questions behind the process: what matters, who is accountable, and how a decision holds up when the conditions change. Clear governance connects the rules of a system to the people living with its consequences.

01

Clarity

Make the problem understandable before making the answer complicated.

02

Structure

Give decisions a foundation: ownership, boundaries, and a shared language.

03

Systems

Look beyond individual symptoms to the patterns that produce them.

In practice

I work best where decision rights, review paths, and escalation points are explicit. As automation and AI enter the process, human oversight, traceability, and review must remain visible. Technology should strengthen sound judgment—not obscure who is responsible for it.

Clear decisions. Human accountability.

Beyond the professional lens

Another way to ask the difficult questions.

I also write fiction as Ankkit K Grover. The Human Trace Series and The Second Voice Series explore trust, memory, prediction, and identity through psychological thrillers. Both my professional interests and my stories return to a similar question: what happens when the account a system produces does not capture the whole human experience? In fiction, I explore that tension through characters facing uncertainty, difficult choices, and competing versions of the truth.
